Biography: Alistair is descended from a long line of Magic users. His ancestors were the once Powerful Megatherion Order of Wizards. However through the ages the bloodline has waned until his magical powers are little more than that of a magician. In fact that's what he is. Since he was twelve Alistair has performed on street corners wowing audiences with his talents.

The smell of fresh baked goods and smoked meat filled the market square. Riven was a small town that owed no allegiance to any nation. However as the closest town at the base of a large mountain range it was a common trading spot for travelers. The market square held many wonders that had been traded from the far corners of Betania. Bakers would fill out large orders for the drivers and travelers who needed provisions for their journey over the mountains.

On a small corner of the main center a street performer was putting on a magic act.
"For my next magical feat I will need a volunteer from the audience... nay four volunteers... anyone brave enough?" The magician had a smile flashing as he spoke. His audience was mostly comprised of children and their parents.
"Oooh me...pick me...no me... me!" All the children wanted to take part.
"You, you, you, and uh yes you miss." He motioned to four people.
The magician smiled as he pointed to a small girl with curly brown hair, another small girl with long strait platinum hair, a young freckle faced fire haired boy and his mother.

Each of the participants stood beside the man.

"Ok now... I want each of you to think of a number between one and ten... no wait... one and a thousand! can you do that for me? Any number and number at all." The magician closed his eyes and brought his hands to his face, With two fingers he rubbed his temples and did a sort of humming sound. He stopped and opened his eyes. The looked first to the brown haired girl.
"Three thousand seven hundred and.... five, six, three, ... would you make up your mind?" Then he motioned to the blonde girl.
"Four hundred and nine.... One." the later directed toward the freckled child.
All the children stared in awe. He had hit every number on the head. Next it was the freckled child's mother's turn.
"Now miss I said a number, its no fair to pick the letter X."
The lady gasped "How could you have known that? I was going to play a long for the children's sake but... how?"
"A good magician never reveals his secrets madam!"
the onlookers applauded at the masterful display.

"Ladies and gentlemen it has been a pleasure to perform for you all this afternoon, however I am afraid my strength has waned. Trust that the great Alistair Therion shall return to once again wow the masses and perform for you good people once again." With a small bow he removed his cape and walked off down the street after he pocketed the money from his hat.

Sorcerer is a custom class, you have to choose from the base classes for your base character.

Also: "He's a g" isn't much of a character description. I would recommend going Mage, Elementalist or Time Mage if you wish to later train as a Sorcerer.

Additionally you seem to have omitted Defense from your attributes.

I know it's all a little confusing, but if you have questions we're here to help.

Alistair spoke with me about training for my custom class and I told him he could, as long as he trained for it with me IC. I have no problems with him starting out with it as his 'first' class. I don't know if beginning with a 'base' class is a site rule or not, but if it is, could an exception be made? I intend to guide Alistair in this class, and was hoping to do it sooner rather than later.

Sorry. We've never made an exception in the past for new users. I had to start as a base class, you had to start as a base class, it's our common thread. NPCs are all base classes it, too, it's how reasonable balance is maintained.

Generally speaking you can't make a custom class until tenth, but I wont forbid anyone for training for it right away provided the class' original creator has no objections -and you clearly do not. Alas I'm sticking with precedence because we've denied it of others in the past and it wouldn't be fair to switch up the rules now.

So I'm confused...are you saying he CAN train for it right away, even though he can't technically get the class until he reaches level 10? Or is he not allowed to train for it at all until he hits 10?

As far as I am aware there is no written rule against training for a custom class at first level, simply that one cannot create it. In the past that may have been misinterpreted to mean one cannot train for one until 10th either, I'm intentionally saying that he can if that's what he wants to do.

FAQ Entry. I'm specifically stating that it's cool for him to train for the class, so long as he starts with a base class. Unfortunately he doesn't fall under the "Restarting" rules, so he has to start off with a base class. As per normal he would not be allowed to create a class until 10th, however. Though that would be redundant I'm assuming.

I'm usually not all that hard-up on rules, but I like to follow the black and white to avoid problems down the road.

I could use a diff class and then train Sorceror if that's what the staff would prefer. However if your not already put off from my first attempt at joining... Could I ask for that 'special approval from staff' ?

So you're saying he can train immediately for a different class without having to put a single point in a base class? Then what's the point of even making him list a base class? That, and the fact that there's nothing written preventing anyone from using a custom class to start out with if they have permission.

My custom attack is called Alastair. That's probably where you remember it; and Mandy used one of my wolf characters, Alastair, as a summon at one point.
